A propos de L’Initiative interdisciplinaire en infection et immunité de McGill, ou MI4
L’Initiative interdisciplinaire en infection et immunité de McGill, ou MI4, vise à fédérer ces nombreux et brillants scientifiques et clinicien dans le but de créer de nouvelles solutions aux maladies infectieuses et immunitaires et de les mettre en œuvre pour les patients et les populations qui en ont le plus besoin.
Vision
Exploiter le plein potentiel de la recherche translationnelle pour prévenir, guérir et éliminer de grandes menaces infectieuses et immunitaires pour la santé humaine au 21e siècle.
Mission
Former et soutenir des équipes de recherche translationnelle interdisciplinaire de façon à :
mieux comprendre les déterminants liés aux microbes, àl’hôte et à l’environnement qui sous-tendent le développement des maladies infectieuses et immunitaires humaines;
mettre au point de nouvelles approches préventives, diagnostiques et thérapeutiques pour combattre ces maladies.
Portée des activités
Financer la recherche sur le rôle des microbes dans la maladie humaine, et sur les maladies dont la principale cause est immunologique ou dont le traitement vise principalement le système immunitaire.

About McGill Interdisciplinary Initiative in Infection and Immunity, or MI4
The McGill Interdisciplinary Initiative in Infection and Immunity, or MI4, has been conceived to bring together these many talented scientists et clinicians at McGill, with the goal of developing new solutions for infectious and immune diseases and delivering these solutions to the patients and populations who need them most.
Vision:
To leverage the power of translational research for the prevention, cure and elimination of major infectious and immune threats to human health in the 21st century.
Mission:
To create and foster interdisciplinary translational research teams that will:
Generate new understandings of the microbial, host and environmental determinants that underlie the development of human infectious and immune diseases.
Develop new preventative, diagnostic and therapeutic approaches to combat these conditions.
Scope:
To fund research on the role of microbes in human diseases and diseases for which there is a primary immunologic cause or for which the treatment is primarily directed at the immune system.

L'Orchestre I Medici di McGill de la Faculté de médecine de l'Université McGill
Formé à partir d'un bassin d'étudiants talentueux de la Faculté de médecine, de collègues et d'amis, l'orchestre apporte une dimension humaniste, artistique et sociale spéciale à l'enseignement et à la profession médicale. Le Dr. Ante L. Padjen a fondé l'orchestre en 1989 dans le but de renforcer l'étude des sciences humaines à la faculté, convaincu que la formation en musique peut contribuer à former de meilleurs médecins. L'ensemble I Medici di McGill est une entité unique au sein de l'Université McGill par sa capacité à rassembler sur une base régulière un groupe de plus de 65 personnes formé d'étudiants actuels et anciens, ainsi que des membres du personnel, dans une activité hebdomadaire tant sociale que communautaire, comme le démontrent ce concert.
Maestro Gilles Auger, chef d'orchestre
Né à Québec, Gilles Auger est diplômé de la prestigieuse Juilliard School of Music (New York) et a été l'élève de Leonard Bernstein. Il est actuellement chef d'orchestre et professeur au Conservatoire de musique de Québec et directeur de l'Orchestre symphonique de Lévis.

I Medici di McGill Orchestra of the Faculty of Medicine of McGill University
Drawn from a talented pool of doctors, students, medical faculty, colleagues and friends, the orchestra brings a unique humanistic, artistic and social dimension to medical education and the medical profession. In 1989, the orchestra was founded by Dr. Ante L. Padjen with an aim to reinforce the study of the humanities at the faculty in the belief that training in music may contribute to turning out better physicians. I Medici di McGill ensemble is distinctive as an institution at the University, perhaps the only organized activity at the University that brings over 65 staff, students, alumni and friends together for regular social interactions and community outreach and support, such as this concert.
Maestro Gilles Auger, conductor
Born in Quebec City, Gilles Auger is a graduate of the prestigious Juilliard School of Music (New York) and a student of the late Leonard Bernstein. He is currently a conductor and teacher at the Quebec Conservatory and music director of the Lévis Symphony Orchestra.
