I Medici di McGill String Quartet at the White Coat Ceremony 2018

McGill University Faculty of Medicine’s annual White Coat ceremony for MDCM Class of 2022 is taking place at
10:30 h
Friday, October 4, 2019
New Residence Hall.

I Medici di McGill String Quartet has participated in the events with a brief musical prelude since the introduction of the ceremony in 2001.

The tradition dates back to the 19th century. In the ceremony medical students are ‘cloaked’ with the white coat, the universal symbol of the medical profession, to mark the beginning of their clinical work. The hundreds of medical students entering the second stage of their undergraduate program gather to make the pledge to follow the principles of the medical profession, providing compassionate care and aspiring professional integrity.
